Wilton Police received a complaint of an assault that occurred Wednesday, Dec. 5. The victim alleged that he was working for his employer at a residence in Wilton. The victim said his employer, 36-year-old William Escobar of Bridgeport, physically assaulted him because he refused to work on an unsafe scaffold.
The victim claims Escobar kneed him in the thigh and threw him to the ground before kicking Escobar kicked him in the head and right forearm as he tried to stand.
The victim also alleges that Escobar threatened to kill him during the altercation.
The victim was admitted to Bridgeport Hospital for injury treatment, and the bruising and other physical injuries corroborated his claims.
Escobar later arrived at Wilton Police Department for questioning. He was subsequently placed under arrest and faces the following charges:
- Assault in the second degree
- Threatening in the second degree
- Disorderly conduct
Escobar was released upon posting $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, Dec. 17.
